How can descendants of Holocaust survivors share the ways in which the Shoah continues to shape their families, identities, and lives?

SHOAH STORIES, in collaboration with AMCHA, PP&C Strategy Consultancy, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, invites adult second-, third-, and fourth-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors to participate in a multi-session international online training. Supported by experienced creator trainers and an AMCHA trauma specialist, participants learn how to transform the stories they choose to tell into engaging short-form videos.

What the programme combines

The training includes:

  • Trauma-informed reflection on inherited memory and family history
  • Ethical storytelling and historical contextualization
  • Practical video development using TikTok and CapCut
  • Selected AI tools that can support the creative workflow
  • Audience engagement and responsible publishing
  • Preparation for antisemitism, hate speech, and difficult online responses
  • Individual support throughout the programme

Practical outcome and publication

Participants will develop between three and five short-form videos during the programme.

Subject to approval by the participants and participating institutions, selected videos will be published through AMCHA's TikTok channel. They may also be shared by Holocaust memorial sites and museums connected to the respective family histories and participating in the TikTok Shoah Commemoration & Education Initiative.

Participant safety and autonomy

Participants remain in control of what they share and whether they publish their work. No one will be expected to disclose traumatic experiences or personal information they would prefer to keep private. Confidential individual support will be available throughout the training.

No previous video-production experience is required.
